Sheikh Sajjat Ali said at the press conference that during the incident, the police reached the spot within a few minutes after receiving information through the emergency service number 999. When they went there, the police found that the accused were trying to create a mob atmosphere. They were chanting slogans like ‘No place for extortionists, no fear for businessmen’. Immediately after the incident, Mohin was arrested from the scene and Robin from the nearby area. Later, seven more people were arrested after analyzing the CCTV footage. The two stone throwers were also arrested. So far, a total of 9 people have been arrested in this incident.

The DMP Commissioner said that the arrested accused have been brought on remand and are being interrogated. And efforts are ongoing to arrest the other accused.

In response to the question of whether the accused have political affiliations, Sheikh Sajjat Ali said that any citizen of the country can have a political affiliation. That is a different matter. Political affiliation has nothing to do with this incident.

Sajjat Ali commented that misleading information is being spread about the case report. He said that misleading information has been spread on various social media and media regarding the case report. The real story is that Lal Chand’s ex-wife Lucky Akhter first came to the police station to file the case report. After a while, her stepbrother also came to the police station. They consulted among themselves and prepared a draft complaint, naming 23 people as accused. At the same time, Lal Chand’s elder sister Manjuara Begum came to the police station and expressed her interest in filing a complaint. Then the previous draft was presented to Manjuara. At that time, her daughter took a picture of the draft complaint, which later spread on social media. In the end, Manjuara filed the case as the plaintiff.
